gun stock repair

Can anyone reccomend a gun stock repair person.  I have a grade 3 wood stock that needs a few dents removed and refinished.

Re: gun stock repair

Here's a trick I learned from a gunsmith friend of mine regarding the removal of stock dents. If you have an iron and a damp towel the dents will pop right out. Take a towel and get it wet, then wring out excess moisture so the towel is damp, then place the towel over the dent and take a hot iron and hold it over the same area, lift up the towel and check the progress. You may have to re-wet your towel and repeat the process to get the dent out completely. I have taken quarter inch dents out of a rifle stock with this process. A gunsmith will charge you $50 to take1 or 2 dents out and $100 and up for 3 or more dents. I wouldn't try this tecnique with a composite sock!
